SYSTEM OVERDRAWN
A downloadable game for Windows
Welcome, Debtor.
SYSTEM OVERDRAWN is a rougelike PC-sim gambling survival game with elements of psychological horror. You play as a poor individual who has lost in life in almost every imaginable way. The last drop was when you unexpectedly lost your job, after which you slipped into gambling as a way to cover rent and mounting medical bills, convincing yourself that you could outsmart the odds.
What began as occasional online bets slowly grew into a compulsive habit, one that isolated you from friends and pushed away the people who cared about you. Your debts spiraled out of control, eventually reaching unobtainable levels. That’s when BetWorks™ approached. A mysterious organization, a syndicate that claims to ‘help’ people like you. Instead of breaking your legs, they hand you an old, battered BetDesk 2000 computer running on BetOS to ‘assist’ your journey of getting out of a never-ending debt cycle. Be careful to keep your hunger in check. Your excessive gambling habits can't get too out of hand.
This game won the 2025 Future Game Makers Jam.
